One of my most favorite smells in the world is the varying scents of the cannabis bud. It has been ever since I was introduced to it years ago. I am such a cannabis supporter that I tend to purchase most anything with the word hemp in it. Hemp granola, hemp guitar straps, hemp oil for salads, etc. I believe it is a miracle plant given to us for our use, literally by G-d, to be used and in some instances sanctified as holy.
At one point in my life in researching the miraculous nature of cannabis I stumbled upon a certain woman’s writings. Sula Benet was the woman and her writings were from the 1930s. If you want to read a crash course in the writings of Moses and Marijuana check out the following link. (<---If you are a conservative Christian, that link might bunch up your panties of religiosity.) Do I believe all that is written in that article, NO...but there are some interesting points and ideas within. At any rate, Sula Benet discovered that the word Kaneh Bosm was mistranslated in the bible to mean calamus. Where in fact the true translation, backed by Rabbi's, was actually cannabis. You see calamus can have a litany of adverse reactions, I've even read that the dangerous illicit drug ecstasy is made from calamus. Cannabis, on the other hand, has been shown time and time again to be a plant that heals and is useful for spirituality, healing, food, fuel, clothing and much, much more.
Then G-d said, I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth, and every tree that has fruit in it.” -Genesis 1:29-30
Now with this discovery there are a LOT of implications. Just read the article in the above link to see what some of that entails.
For me, it was an amazing discovery but I also knew that many “evangelicals” are 100% against anything having to do with an illicit drug. Why? With down turned face, “Because it is illegal and G-d’s word says to ‘abide by the laws of the land'”. Ugh. Well I would say…as long as you don’t speed while driving, text while driving, etc. You’re fine. Also, the fathers of our country should have handed over their guns to the British as well, because it was, well….law. Pft.
At any rate, many, including myself see cannabis as a sacrament. Ordained by G-d. There is more evidence to suggest that cannabis was in the holy anointing oil rather than the mistranslated ecstasy, er um…calamus. A full dose of calamus can kill, a full dose of cannabis causes euphoria and the munchies.
At any rate…take a look at these two videos. The first is one of my favorites the second is very informative. Enjoy!
